Colors speak to me in ways that are hard to describe. Sometimes I’m the choreographer directing their interplay, while at other times, I’m the observer, watching them transform and seduce one another. They evoke such strong emotions in me and hopefully in the viewer as well. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eLight. \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cspan\u003eMy memories always begin with the light, the gradations of its presence and absence. The glow emanating from behind a cloud, the sunlight reflecting on the crest of a wave, or the flash of a reflection in a storefront window always bring me back to a moment in time. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cspan\u003eIt’s the conversation between color and light that motivates me to paint. It’s how they interact, play off one another, and sometimes merge to create something totally new that is endlessly fascinating to me. I want to seize that moment of interdependency between color and light to allow viewers to see something familiar in a unique and surprising way, where the traditional is transformed into something exceptional.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cspan\u003eMy work is greatly inspired by my travels and my Berkshire County surroundings. I received a BFA in Visual Design from Southern Massachusetts University where my studies included fine arts, graphics, and textiles.
