Let's Get Drawing! AITB Class - Beginner Drawing w/3 Sessions in October - Ages 15+

Course Description

This supportive, hands-on series helps beginning students develop the habit of careful observation and translate what they see into convincing drawings. Each session introduces specific Elements of Art, then builds toward a final observational drawing that integrates the full process.

Class Dates: 3 Thursdays, October 8, 15, 22.  6 - 8 PM

Class Instructor:  Shany Porras, Artist and AITB Gallery Owner

Course Progression

• Class 1 — Drawing Materials, Line, and Shape
• Class 2 — Value, Form, and Light
• Class 3 — Texture, Space, and Composition

Teaching Approach

Demonstrations are brief and practical, followed by guided exercises, individual support, and encouraging group reflection. The emphasis is on learning to see—not on producing a perfect drawing.
Progression: tools and observation  →  light and dimension  →  texture, space, and a resolved drawing.
