Course Description
This supportive, hands-on series helps beginning students develop the habit of careful observation and translate what they see into convincing drawings. Each session introduces specific Elements of Art, then builds toward a final observational drawing that integrates the full process.
Class Dates: October 8, 15, 23. 6 - 8 PM
Course Progression
• Class 1 — Drawing Materials, Line, and Shape
• Class 2 — Value, Form, and Light
• Class 3 — Texture, Space, and Composition
Teaching Approach
Demonstrations are brief and practical, followed by guided exercises, individual support, and encouraging group reflection. The emphasis is on learning to see—not on producing a perfect drawing.
Progression: tools and observation → light and dimension → texture, space, and a resolved drawing.

We recommend the $20 AITB Materials Kit for this class. If you already own some of the supplies, you may purchase only the individual items you need.

· Graphite Sketch Set For Students and Beginning Artists by Faber-Castell Creative Studio
· Spiral Sketch Book, Side Bound, 8.5x11 inches, ~30 sheets (or a sketch notebook around this size)
· Optional: Newsprint or inexpensive sketch paper
