Inspired by the natural beauty of the Berkshires, Karen Carmean paints almost daily from June through October, using oil and cold wax with a limited palette. Her love of color and texture brings a sense of movement and abstraction to her work.
Encouraged by her mother at an early age, she has explored various media, studying at the Cambridge Center for Adult Education and through workshops with the Guild of Berkshire Artists. A founding organizer of the Cambridge MA Studio Tours, she now serves as President of the Guild of Berkshire Artists and leads its Berkshire Plein Air program. She continues to learn and grow through every artistic collaboration.
