Margaret Buchte brings passion, joy, and dedication to her work in oils, acrylics, watercolors, and pastels. Her paintings capture the essence of the Berkshires and beyond—landscapes, farm life, city streets, and quiet rural corners—always under dramatic, expressive light.
Deeply inspired by the Ashcan School and the energy of everyday life, Margaret is especially drawn to the movement and mood of local street scenes. Her work often includes subtle human figures, adding narrative and emotion to each setting.
Whether depicting a bustling streetscape or a peaceful pasture with grazing animals, Margaret’s goal is the same: to reflect the spirit and beauty of a place.
In addition to her studio practice, she has led many mini-workshops in drawing and painting over the years. Margaret also accepts commissions, specializing in house portraits, pet paintings, and personal landscape requests.
