Nathan Hoogs & Elizabeth Crawford Hoogs – Hoogs & Crawford Glass
For over 26 years, Nathan Hoogs and Elizabeth Crawford Hoogs have been creating unique hand-blown glass, built on the values of togetherness, collaboration, and teamwork. Their journey in glassmaking began in 1999, leading them to establish Hoogs & Crawford Glass Studio and Gallery in Canaan, NY, where they have shared their craft with the public for 17 years.
Their process is a carefully orchestrated dance—gathering molten glass from a 2100-degree furnace, layering colors, and shaping each piece with ancient hand tools, wooden blocks, and gravity. The glass is repeatedly heated, blown, and sculpted before being placed in an annealing oven to cool overnight, revealing a finished masterpiece the next day.
Nathan began his career as a glassblowing apprentice at Berkshire Glass in 1998, later working with studios such as Fellerman Raabe and Gartner Blade. Elizabeth studied glassblowing at Massachusetts College of Art and gained experience at studios including Fellerman Raabe, Ghent Glassworks, and Berkshire Glass. After years of production glassblowing, they built their own studio, allowing them to fully explore their artistic voices.
Today, their work continues to evolve. They combine skill, creativity, and passion to produce stunning hand-blown glass pieces for the home.
