About Us
The Sandisfield Arts Center is a vibrant hub for culture, history, and community in the southern Berkshires. Our mission is twofold: to preserve our historic building—once a 19th-century Baptist meeting house and later a rare rural Orthodox synagogue—and to provide enriching cultural and educational programs for our community.
Founded in 1995 by a group of dedicated volunteers, the Arts Center has grown into a recognized non-profit institution celebrated for its commitment to heritage, the arts, and community connection. Our home, now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, welcomes visitors from across Massachusetts, New York, and Connecticut for performances, lectures, films, and family events.
Managed entirely by volunteers and sustained by generous donors, the Center is a testament to the power of grassroots collaboration. From installing a handicap-accessible lift to hosting free events like family movie nights and holiday celebrations, we work to ensure the Arts Center remains a place where art, history, and community thrive together.
